Tender Description
Austin Health intents to expand the existing CSSD facility at Austin Hospital to meet increased workload within the hospital organization. The CSSD is a 24/7 operating environment that needs to remain operational during the construction process. It is also a clinical space that requires a high level of infection control.
The construction scope of works includes but not limited to:
- Expanding the physical CSSD space via demolition of existing and construction of new walls, floors and ceilings.
- Upgrade existing services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire as well as specialized services such as RO water and steam) to meet the new enlarged facility,
- Working within a live operational and clinical environment,
- Working in multiple stages to accommodate CSSD operations,
- Liaison and communication with a large group of stakeholders and competing requirement, and
- Liaison and management of medical equipment delivery and installation.
Contractors interested in submitting tender price for the work is required to have extensive knowledge and experience with working within an operational Tertiary Health Facility. The contractor is also required to have had experience in working and managing specialised trades and equipment installation. This includes specialised building services sub-contractors.
A site walkthrough has been organised for Tuesday 17 August 2021 at 7am. The site walkthrough is mandatory. Tender submissions without site walkthrough attendance will not be considered.
Interested tenderers also need to be registered with Austin Health iPro Certification in addition to DTF Construction Supplier Registration List.
