Southern Rural Water (SRW) provides forward notice that procurement for the Cowwarr Weir Mechanical Upgrade, shall commence through an open tender on 7 December 2022.
SRW is seeking a suitable contractor that has a successful history upgrading and replacing mechanical equipment in the water industry.
The works will involve mechanical operating gear inspection, refurbishment, replacement and modification to allow SRW to continue to operate the weir in its full capacity as a water diversion and flood control structure. Associated works will include removal of hazardous materials including asbestos brake pads and red lead primer paint.
Cowwarr Weir is located on the Rainbow Creek in Gippsland, approximately 30 km North-East of Traralgon.
