Project data reporting standard

⁠⁠⁠A ‘project data reporting standard’ is being developed to enable agencies that have digital and ICT projects to better provide project performance data to the DTA at a reduced time and resources impost than the current practice of preparing project responses to the periodic ‘Wave’ Approved Programs Collection data process.

Nominated projects which meet the reporting standard will not be required to report through the ‘Wave’ Approved Programs Collection data process throughout the trial period from June to October 2024.

The supplier will be responsible for:

1. Supporting the development and drafting of a minimum viable project data set of questions related to digital project delivery.

2. Review of project governance reporting arrangements in similar sectors and jurisdictions to recommend a best practice approach for agencies to adopt in reporting on project delivery to the DTA

3 Develop agency engagement collateral to communicate project data reporting standard and its coordinated interoperation with other DTA collection mechanisms.

Outcomes

The supplier will deliver the following

1. A detailed analysis and recommendations of a minimum viable project data set of questions related to digital project delivery.

2. A detailed report reviewing project governance reporting arrangements in similar sectors and jurisdictions, that presents the findings and recommendations of a best practice approach for agencies to adopt in reporting on project delivery in their governance arrangements, and to the DTA. This best practice approach needs to be process driven and not reliant on propriety technology.

These recommendations should aim to uplift agency best practice in governance boards/bodies reporting on digital project delivery.

3. Create an agency engagement guide/suite of products to communicate the project data reporting standard and its coordinated interoperation with other DTA mechanisms.
