Mansfield Shire Council is seeking to engage the services of an experienced and qualified consultant to determine existing catchment area and inflows to Rowe Street Drainage Infrastructure. Then provide both conceptual drawings for Council review and final detailed engineering upgrade designs for stormwater drainage infrastructure upgrade along Rowe Street and into Ailsa Street corner.
Rowe Street down to Ailsa Street and Fords Creek area has seen significant flooding and drainage issues. The corner of Rowe Street and Ailsa Street is within Urban Flood Zone (UFZ). The drainage system along the East of Rowe Street, seems to be under sized and the entire road gets flooded during a rain event. There are multiple inlet pipes (600mm pipe form Highton Lane and 900mm pipe from Malcolm Street) connected to the drainage system at Rowe Street.
This existing drainage infrastructure is insufficient for the flows that come into this area and its large stormwater catchment zone as this is the final section before flowing into Fords Creek. The current drainage infrastructure on Rowe Street creates large flooding issues, causing flooding on the road and nearby property frontage.
