Tender Description
The AFRM Research Committee seeks expressions of interest for 5 vacant positions.
The Committee positions open are:
- 3 x Fellow representatives
- 1 x Aotearoa New Zealand representative
- 1 x Trainee representative
Skills and Capabilities
- belief in, and commitment to, the values, mission, and objectives of the College
- the ability to work as a constructive member of a team where all members bear equal and joint responsibility for the decisions made, the value that is added to the organisation, and the conduct of the committee
- financial literacy to the level necessary to understand the College’s accounts and financial position and performance
- the capability to think strategically and analytically
Attributes
- be a Fellow of the AFRM
- be a trainee of the AFRM (for trainee position only)
- active involvement and/or experience in research, supervision of higher degrees, and teaching research methods
- demonstrated understanding of the health research environment and medical education environment
- experience and demonstrated effectiveness in working in a team and valuing all members
- attitudes of cooperation and high standards of ethical behaviours
- commitment to quality assurance and continuous development
Key tasks
- attend AFRM Research Committee meetings
- assist the Chair in determining Committee priorities and an annual work plan for approval by the AFRM Council. Develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor the activity of the Committee work plan
- assist the Chair in responding to new and emerging research issues relevant to the AFRM as they arise
- act as an authoritative source of direction and advice within the College regarding rehabilitation medicine-related research issues
The AFRM Research Committee holds regular bi-monthly meetings. Due to COVID-19, all meetings are held via video conference.
