Extensive experience and Subject Matter Expertise in the support and administration of Oracle Databases and their underlying platforms, including:
• Providing hands on technical expertise, providing senior level technical guidance to staff, and other teams as necessary
• Providing Oracle 11g/12c/18c database administration, database security and production support, primarily in a UNIX/Exadata environment
• Upgrades, availability and performance monitoring & tuning, installations, managing replications, diagnosing system problems, disaster recovery testing and maintaining user accessibility of Oracle databases
• Resolving complex issues involving: database performance, database capacity, resiliency, stability, replication, and other key aspects of distributed database technology
• Managing physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring
• Reporting to management on the Oracle DBA team activities
• Defining, documenting and maintaining Oracle DBA team processes
• Researching and recommending solutions that best meet business needs and enterprise operational requirements
• Working closely with multiple application development team(s) to implement and support data-oriented development efforts
• Mentoring and training junior staff
• Linux based operating systems with an emphasis on RHEL
• Routine maintenance and patching of the Oracle database platforms
• Ongoing monitoring of system health and performance
• Identify opportunities for innovation, automation and sustainability of the Oracle platforms
The principal accountabilities and responsibilities for all roles include:
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise where required to ACIC CIO Division Project.
• Participation and input into the CIO Division Design Authority as required.
• Ensure availability, performance and capacity requirements are met for ACIC ICT, including incident management and future planning requirements.
• Apply a high level of technical expertise in verifying and validating the current and future ICT states.
• Ensure that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current.
• Maintain hardware and software through regular maintenance and patching of assets.
• Maintain compliance with the ACIC’s target Essential Eight maturity levels.
• Sound understanding of and ability to operate within a mature ITIL framework.
• Actively monitor and report on ACIC infrastructure.
• Ensure the ACIC Network and Infrastructure platforms are able to meet current and future business requirements.
• Apply technical ability to ensure the ICT Network and Infrastructure remains secure in accordance with relevant Commonwealth and Agency security policies such as the ISM and PSPF.
• Provide ongoing support to existing systems including high level problem resolution.
• Apply highly developed written and verbal communication skills to develop briefings for senior internal and external stakeholders with a focus on key points and the use of appropriate language.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support roster for the associated team.
• Build effective working relationships with the CIO Division sections and teams to ensure high level of communication and cross-functional partnerships are achieved.
• Other duties as directed.
The Specified Personnel must:
• Hold and maintain an Australian Government security clearance to the minimum of Negative Vetting Level 1. The cost of obtaining each security clearance and other related costs including the cost for re-validating the security clearance will be borne by the Seller. The Seller must ensure that its Specified Personnel promptly provide to the Buyer relevant details to assist with the security clearance process, and the Seller must notify the Buyer promptly in writing of any change in circumstances which is likely to affect the Buyer’s assessment of the Specified Personnel’s entitlement to hold a security clearance.
• comply with all Agency Policies which are available on request, and through the Agency intranet site. This includes policies which relate to drug and alcohol testing.
• undertake and pass a pre-employment screening process (Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA)) which includes a police check.
• comply with the requirements of the Continuing Organisational Suitability Assessment (COSA)
• As directed by the Agency, complete a Deed of Confidentiality or Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to commencement or comply with processes required to engage the Specified Personnel under section 48 of the Australian Crime Commission Act (2002).
• Must be COVID vaccinated
• undertake an induction program upon commencement.
• Undergo Agency training prior to commencing work if required:
o Work, Health and Safety training; and
o Security Awareness training
• Complete the work on the Agency Premises, or as otherwise directed by the Agency.
