An exciting opportunity is available to be part of an award-winning multi-year initiative to modernise IP Australia’s core business systems.
At IP Australia you will play an important role in the Patents Modernisation Initiative which is at the forefront of digital transformation through agile delivery and following DevOps approaches.
This role will work within multi-discipline delivery teams, following agile principles to support development of new IT systems. Working closely with business subject matter experts, end users, developers and other technical specialists, the role will conduct analysis and define requirements that enable IP Australia to achieve its target state vision.
Under the direction of the Delivery Manager, your tasks will include:
• Engaging with business stakeholders to understand their needs and express these as user stories and requirements;
• Conducting research and in-depth analysis of existing business processes, data and products;
• Collaborating with subject matter experts, end users, product owners, architects, developers, database administrators and testers to design and deliver solutions;
• Work in an agile way focussed on iterative value delivery using lean/DevOps approaches;
• Supporting the team’s delivery managers;
• Sprint planning with delivery teams;
• Sprint ceremonies and continuous improvement;
• Be part of a progressive and modern delivery team responsible for transforming IP Australia’s digital services and delivering innovative customer-centric solutions;
In addition to these accountabilities and responsibilities you will:
• Contribute to agile/delivery/project management practices in IP Australia;
• Support the ongoing development of teams and individuals through mentoring and upskilling of junior team members.
Applicants must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work effectively in a multi-discipline team. They must be ‘team players’ supporting and contributing to a highly collaborative culture where team members work closely to deliver quality outcomes.
Applicants are also expected to be proactive and motivated to build their site knowledge of the complex business and technical areas at IP Australia that are relevant to their role.
Note: this role requires candidates to be onsite in Canberra for at least 2 days per week. Opportunities to work remotely up to 3 days per week may be negotiated.
