Production and Fire Water Tank Refurbishment

⁠⁠⁠Scope of Works

Production and Fire Water Tank Refurbishment including but not limited to the following:

a. Identification and submission of suitable tank liner for Rio Tinto review and approval. If the liner is of potable water grade, the submission must be inclusive of certification to demonstrate approval for use by the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines to convey potable water.

b. Supply and installation of new approved tank liner into the existing tank shell.

c. Isolation, blanking and / or disconnection (including removal of spools) of existing inflow pipelines connected to the tank to ensure a safe work environment inside the tank.

d. Supply and installation of geo-fabric inside the tank. To be placed between the tank liner and the tank shell to reduce the impact of heat and resultant degradation of the tank liner. Including the supply and installation of capping of any exposed bolts and or protrusions inside the tank to ensure the new geofabric and tank liner is protected.

e. Design, supply and installation of additional roof vents to improve breathability and ventilation of the vapour space.

f. Tank shell repairs:

1. Supply of contingency shell panels and structural supports, should further repairs be required to return the tank to service.

2. Potential for complete tank OR shell structure replacement (after liner has been removed and inspection completed).

g. Replacement of the skirting ring (Square-Hollow-Section) fitted along the bottom edge of the tank.

h. Lengthen / extension of tank inlets to reduce splash filling. Including - main supply, recycled water, process water pump returns, fire water pressure relief return.

i. Conduct a detailed structural assessment of the tank whilst offline and the liner is removed, including a report and identify any necessary future maintenance to be planned.

j. Repair peeling surface treatment along the lower edge of the bottom strake.

k. Provision of bladder tanks and pump system sufficient to supplement the fire water contingency held by the tank. This is to be available, filled and connected throughout the tank relining works.

l. Reinstatement of all tank connections at the completion of the works.

m. Disinfection and commissioning of potable water line as per AS3500 and RTIO guidelines.

n. Provision of updated as-built vendor drawings reflecting the changes, additions, modification, materials and liners used.

o. 24 hour static test as part of the commissioning procedure.

p. To expedite the works and minimise mobilisation and administration costs, the Contractor must adopt a 'construction roster' of 4 weeks on and 1 week off, with a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every 14th day.

q. Provide a 10 year minimum guarantee for the liner and a 20 year minimum guarantee on any shell replacement.
