Expressions of interest are open for Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (AChPM) Fellows to fill a casual vacancy for the ACHPM President-elect role.
This role is a casual vacancy and must be re-opened for formal election in May 2026.
The AChPM supports the professional careers of all Fellows and trainees of the Chapter. Alongside other relevant College Bodies and staff, the AChPM works on these aspects as they relate to palliative medicine:
- education, training, and assessment of trainees
- education, continuing professional development and quality performance of Fellows
- policy and advocacy
- the assessment of overseas trained professionals
- research
- workforce
The AChPM Committee is the peak decision-making body for the Chapter, promoting and advancing the body of knowledge of palliative medicine within the College. The committee meets 4 times per year.
The term for this casual vacancy will start immediately following confirmation of appointment and will conclude at the RACP AGM in May 2026, in line with the College election cycle.
Note: the Fellow appointed to fill this casual vacancy will also be eligible to stand for formal election in 2026; and if elected at that time will serve a 2-year term as President-elect (2026-2028) before becoming the AChPM President.
