The Department of Energy and Public Works, through QBuild is seeking to gain a better understanding of, and investigate, Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) that result in either volumetric or panelised off-site construction systems to improve the quality and speed of housing construction across Queensland through an initial Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
It is QBuild’s intent to not only utilise the potential benefits offered by MMC by external Suppliers, but to also grow a variety of skills and knowledge opportunities across the public sector through future-looking housing solutions and contemporary MMC methods, by taking advantage of a wealth of local industry experience and expertise in collaboration with the Office of the Queensland Government Architect (OQGA).
There are a number of significant programs of housing construction work required to be delivered that will provide housing for Queenslanders while supporting the growth of new construction methodologies across the state.
This EOI process will assist in informing the best delivery and procurement approaches that best support the Queensland Government in achieving its requirements and provides an opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced MMC Suppliers to become involved in partnering with the Queensland Government.
