The Organisation
Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation responsible for building, maintaining and operating an electricity network that connects our 2.3 million customers to traditional and renewable energy sources, delivering an essential service to our community.
The Scope
Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, for the provision of Asset Inspection software:
to facilitate the management of its electricity network;
to support the value chain for field inspection activities and the visibility of asset maintenance and operational history;
to be able to include Inspections on all types of Assets in Western Power;
to manage other asset treatments, including repair, replacement, and modification activities; and
be adaptable to new technologies and gadgets such as cloud technology and multiple device/operating system combinations (e.g. iPhone, iPad and android telephone/tablet devices).
Background
Western Power maintains over 7,600 km of transmission and 103,500 km of distribution circuit, as well as 154 substations.
Maintenance on Western Power’s assets is largely condition based and relies on an extensive program of inspections. The field mobility tool used to support this program (Mobile Inspector) is end of life and a modern solution is required.
