Tender Description

ABOUT THE COUNCIL:
Stretching from Palm Beach to Manly, the Northern Beaches boasts more than half of all the beaches in Sydney and a population of more than 266,000. The Council is committed to maintaining a high level of customer service to the local community.
Northern Beaches Council is working closely with the community to build strategies that enhance our quality of life, promote sustainable development and protect our environment.

SERVICE REQUIRED:
Council is seeking a digital platform that can be used by Council staff and the wider community to gain insights into demographic and economic conditions and forecasts across the Northern Beaches Local Government Area. This should include a broad range of data sets including, but not limited to:
Demographic profile of the LGA, including a broad range of socio-economic indexes from latest Census;
20 year population forecasts, including household formation and age structure; and
Economic profile of the LGA, including key indicators around business mix/size, GRP and value-add, local jobs and resident workforce, journey to work and industries specialisms such as tourism.

The latest available data should be provided, including 2021 Census and interim estimates or forecasts for a range of economic and demographic measures. Specialised data sets that combine a range of measures, such as housing affordability and liveability, should also be provided.
Benchmarking with other geographies (i.e. NSW and Greater Sydney) will be important to compare socio-economic performance of Northern Beaches. Historical data (previous 2 or more Census periods) will also be essential to monitor change in demographic and economic trends overtime.
Data should also be presented at the smallest geographical unit possible (such as SA1 or Destination Zone) to allow analysis at suburb/town centre level and must be able to be grouped to meaningful geographies, in particular Council Wards and Planning Catchment Areas, for analysis.
Experience in providing Local Government with demographic and economic data is essential.
The Contract term will be an annual subscription for 2 or more years depending upon fees.
