Tender Description
Overview
Arts and Culture COVID-19 Interruption Support grants are available to individuals, groups and organisations to offset or recoup money lost due to cancelled activity after 21 September 2021. Applications from individual artists and arts workers will be prioritised.
Who can apply
Individuals
Individuals are practising NT artists, arts workers or cultural practitioners. Individual applicants must be
- an Australian citizen or have permanent residence status
- over 18 years of age; and
- a current resident of the Northern Territory.
If you are an individual operating as a Sole Trader with an ABN you must apply as an organisation in GrantsNT.
Evidence of residential status may be requested by way of driver’s license, power bill, and electoral roll registration. Individuals can not apply for funding on behalf of another individual, unless authorised by that individual due to accessibility.
Employees of the NT Government are ineligible to apply where there is a direct conflict of interest.
Groups
Groups not legally constituted must identify an individual in the group to be legally and financially responsible for the grant. The responsible individual must meet the above criteria for individuals.
Organisations
Organisations must be not-for-profit, legally constituted and be producers of, or operate in support the arts. Organisations must have their main place of business registered in the Northern Territory. Entities registered and operating outside of the Territory cannot apply.
Sole Traders must have an active ABN and can be for-profit.
NT Government agencies and associated entities, local government bodies and education institutions are ineligible.
What you can apply for
Income or fees lost from cancelled work including (but not limited to):
- fees
- presentations
- tours
- residencies
- workshops
- collaborations
- travel
- venue hire
- equipment and material costs
- freight
- accommodation
- labour
- other fees
What is not funded
- activities that were only in consideration, not planned or scheduled – activities must have been scheduled and promoted;
- loss of income due to not being vaccinated;
- accredited training, or educational activities which are curricular activities in educational institutions;
- activities that are the exclusive responsibility of other funding bodies or government agencies;
- applicants with outstanding grant acquittal reports;
- capital equipment, unless otherwise stated in specific grant category, or real estate purchases;
- catering;
- for profit business activities (unless otherwise stated in specific grant category information);
- fundraising, charitable events or the prizes for competitions;
- insolvent or non-compliant applicants or applicants under administration;
- arts projects or activities that do not have a clearly defined arts outcome;
- research or studio work for academic assessment and undergraduate, diploma, certificate and postgraduate studies;
- restoration or conservation of cultural material activities (unless otherwise stated in specific grant category); and
- screen based projects aimed at the cinema, film festivals or TV, media, advertising and gaming
Before you submit your application
- check that all previous funding received from the NT Government is acquitted;
- read these Guidelines in their entirety;
- speak to Arts NT to check if you are eligible to apply and if the grant category is suitable;
- ensure that all support material is uploaded to GrantsNT;
- individuals operating as sole traders with an ABN must apply as an organisation in GrantsNT.
