The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources requires an experienced Scrum Master to support the project team redeveloping and improving the department’s corporate website – industry.gov.au
The Scrum Master will work with the Product Owner and support a multidisciplinary team of web content, UX and development specialists as they move through the service design and delivery process. The Scrum Master will be embedded in the team full time and be required to co-locate when appropriate.
The project team will be managing business as usual activity from within the department’s Communication branch alongside the project. This will require the Scrum Master to work closely with the team’s Digital Operations Manager and Product Owner to ensure committed work and priorities are well planned, realistic and contribute to the end deliverable.
Key deliverables
• Influence and guide an agile delivery team.
• Actively look for and manage impediments in a positive way, so the velocity of the team is unimpeded.
• Understand and use agile principles and practises and scrum methods to build a cohesive dynamic team that achieves end-user value in small packages.
• Reflect a ‘can do’ mindset by reflecting the values of agile.
• Be responsible for the health of the team by understanding preferred work practises of team members and leading people to better ways of working.
• Keep the scrum events varied and with purpose.
• Communicate with influence. Bring people along on the journey.
• Be adaptable and flexible, where needed step outside the scrum master role to assist the team or Product Owner.
