Request for Information for Short-Term ICT Resource Augmentation

⁠⁠⁠Key problem/s

The organisation is considering the possibility of establishing a surge support arrangement to provide periodic access to reliable and responsive ICT resource augmentation services to support short-term operational and project delivery needs.

Key challenges include:

• Ensuring timely access to suitably skilled and security-cleared ICT professionals across a range of technical roles
• Maintaining a consistent and readily available talent pipeline to support short-term engagements (typically 1–6 months)
• Achieving fast turnaround times for candidate provision to meet time-critical operational and project requirements
• Supporting delivery in a Canberra-based environment, including roles that require on-site presence
• Ensuring continuity of ICT services and the ability to scale resources to meet changing demand

The users and their needs

The primary users are ICT service delivery teams and project managers responsible for maintaining business-as-usual ICT operations and delivering project outcomes.

These users require:

• Timely access to suitably skilled ICT professionals across roles including Service Desk, End User Compute, Application Packaging, SOE, and Wintel Engineering
• Short-term resource augmentation (typically 1–6 months) to support operational activities and project delivery requirements
• Personnel who hold active Baseline security clearances, enabling immediate deployment
• Rapid turnaround of candidate submissions to support time-sensitive requirements
• Flexible delivery arrangements, including primarily on-site support in Canberra, with hybrid or remote options where appropriate

Overall, users require reliable suppliers who can provide high-quality, security-cleared ICT resources at short notice, ensuring continuity of services and effective delivery outcomes.

 Depending on the response to this RFI, the MDBA will decide to progress a formal procurement process and invite selected suppliers to respond.
