⁠⁠⁠ As the NDIA is growing to meet the needs of the Australian population, the NDIA requires comprehensive IT systems to support the day to day running of the organisation.

The Platforms, Integration & Data team are responsible for scoping, designing, delivering and maintaining high quality IT systems and applications to support the entire agency and our partner organisations to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme to our participants every day.

As the Assistant Director of DevOps and Infrastructure you will have a passion for everything cloud and automation. You will have experience in leading technical teams on a journey to the cloud, providing strong leadership to overcome challenges and organizational change management.

A key to your success in this role will be the demonstration of the relationships you build with technical staff and stakeholders to move large work packages forward. Your ability to build high performing technical teams will shine through as a key attribute of your working style.

Duties
• Organise and facilitate Sprint ceremonies (Planning, Standups, Backlog Refinement),
• Provide technical leadership and advice across development teams,
• Manage prioritisation of work within the team,
• Manage multiple vendors including leveraging relationships to provide positive outcomes for the NDIA and the delivery work packages,
• Manage end to end technical delivery of projects and solutions (Requirements, Architecture, Planning, Development, Release)
• Provide input into the Architecture of solutions across the DevOps, infrastructure & data/analytics platforms
• Contribute to the development of solutions across the DevOps, infrastructure & data/analytics platforms
• Lead technical and operational support for NDIA’s technical platforms (AWS, On-prem, data/analytics)
• Facilitate & lead the migration to NDIA’s cloud platforms
• Ensure that our user experience is at the centre of the solutions that we provide,
• Ensure that the solutions provided meet accessibility expectations, identify improvements and leverage relationships with vendors to improve the user experience,
• Ensure that the services we provide are good value for money and deliver on intended purpose,
• Provide strategic and expert domain knowledge to architectural teams in design of solutions,
• As a senior member of the team, possess the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Lead team members and act as director when required,
• Foster a positive culture within the Application Platforms team aligned with Agency values; and
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
