Tender Description

Western Water is seeking a Principal Contractor to undertake the construction of a creek discharge outfall pump station and associated works at the Woodend Recycled Water Plant (RWP).

The project scope includes mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical works including:

  • Construction of a creek discharge outfall pump station, including two (2) centrifugal horizontal end suction pumps with operating flows of 50L/s and 100L/s @ 7.7m head and vacuum-assisted priming system;
  • OD400 PE100 PN6 suction pipework with floating pontoons and inlet coarse screen
  • OD280 PE100 PN10 above-ground discharge rising main approximately 200m
  • Access road improvements, piling foundations, concrete hardstand, and shed for the pump station
  • Electrical and instrumentation works, including new electrical cabinet and wiring
  • Ancillary works necessary to complete and operate the works
  • Testing and commissioning of the new infrastructure

The procurement model will be a construction contract utilising AS/NZS 2124-1992 (subject to amendments).

Western Water is currently in the process of procuring the vacuum-assisted priming system required for the works which will be Principal issued. All other materials will be supplied by the contractor.

The procurement process will be via a public tender process.

Prospective tenderers will need to satisfy the Ministerial Directions for Public Construction Procurement criteria in regards to Occupation Health and Safety Management and Industrial Relations Management.

Request for tender (RFT) is expected to be released by mid-June 2021,
