Ararat Rural City Council is seeking Expression(s) of Interest (EoI) from housing developers to supply land, design and deliver up to 30 two and three-bedroom modular dwellings in Ararat.
The sole purpose of the project is to secure the supply of transitional worker accommodation to address critical housing shortages that are impacting on the ability of local industry to secure a labour force to meet investment demand.
The project would be rolled out in three tranches of ten dwellings based on local workforce demand to ensure project viability is maintained as the market responds to each housing tranche released.
The transitional worker housing project will be wholly managed by the successful developer. Council will consider providing a rental guarantee, or similar instrument in order to overcome market concerns and assist in minimising the risk of the project from a developer’s perspective.
Suitably qualified companies are invited to submit innovative housing and financing proposals that meet Council’s specification and key development objectives of this project.
A strong track record and the ability to deliver this project rapidly will be highly regarded due to the critical economic opportunities the project has been created to address.
