Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA) is responsible for managing the Barwon River through Geelong from Queens Park Bridge to Breakwater Road. The involves the management and maintenance of approximately 10km of linear riverside reserves that are heavily used for sport, events and many different recreational pursuits. The CCMA is also the waterway manager from Geelong through to the Lake Connewarre Game Reserve which means it’s responsible for providing and maintaining appropriate navigational aids, signage for water levels / waterway hazards and river rules applying to the Barwon under its control.

The Corangamite CMA is planning to advertise a tender for the provision of these services with regard to the management of the Barwon River through Geelong. Key aspects of this are maintaining assets that are public amenities such as walking paths, seats, benches, rotundas, car parks, fences, river decks, boat landings, boat ramps, board walks, lighting, drinking fountains and many more. The CCMA also provides a waste management service to remove rubbish from bins, discarded rubbish within the reserve and in the water, grass cutting of the open reserve areas and hazard identification and mitigation.

The CCMA’s intention is to publish further details of this tender by January 2021.
