Valuing Socio-Economic Outcomes of Environmental Watering
Tender ID: 380995
Tender Details
Tender Description
This project seeks robust and evidence-based understanding of the socio-economic values and economic contribution that the use of water for the environment provides to regional communities and the broader Victorian public. This will in turn improve the understanding of communities and decision makers of the importance of water for the environment to their regions and the state. The project aims to quantitatively and qualitatively assess the socio-economic benefits of environmental watering in northern Victoria. The North Central CMA has been engaged to project manage this project on the VEWH’s behalf.
This project seeks to:
* qualitatively describe the socio-economic benefits for regional communities (at a CMA scale) and to the broader Victorian and Murray-Darling basin communities, including development of key case studies or examples
* quantify the economic contribution that the Victorian environmental watering program makes to regional economies (at a CMA scale)
* quantify the cost (e.g. to government and industry) if the ecosystem services that environmental watering supports are not provided.
