Tender Description
The works under this design and construct contract are located on the Rainbow-Nhill Road bridge over Outlet Creek. The Hindmarsh Shire Council (HSC) wishes to increase the load capacity and trafficable width of the bridge to enable the safe movement of B-double trucks and farm machinery.
The HSC has not done any detailed structural engineering analysis of the bridge or geotechnical analysis of the soils and foundations and expects the contractor to undertake these tasks.
The works include the widening of the existing bridge to the northern side in addition to the strengthening and repair works, but HSC is willing to consider alternative proposals, such as a new bridge of any compliant design.
