Gunaikurnai Traditional Owner Land Management Board (GKTOLMB) Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Services - Call for Expressions of Interest.
The purpose of the Gunaikurnai Traditional Owner Land Management Board (the Board) is to set and guide the strategic direction for the joint management of the Appointed Land of the Board (ten parks and reserves within Gippsland) and to collaborate with the relevant land managers and partners (Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation, DELWP and Parks Victoria) to enable the knowledge and culture of the Gunaikurnai People to be recognised in the joint management of these specific parks and reserves.
To achieve this purpose the major planning task of the GKTOLMB is to prepare a Joint Management Plan (JMP) with the Secretary of DELWP in respect of the ten parks and reserves. The JMP will be subject to a public consultation process and ministerial approval. The Board is a public entity under the Public Administration Act 2004. The Board has identified the need for a more strategic and systematic approach to communication and stakeholder engagement and management across the entity, and is looking at reviewing and updating its Stakeholder Engagement Framework in order to:
* Ensure a customised and coherent approach to communication and stakeholder engagement across the entity
* Enable better planned and more informed policies, projects, programs and services
* Position partner and stakeholder engagement as core business for the entity
* Facilitate effective collaboration and knowledge sharing
* Communicate the GKTOLMB’s commitment to and principles of communication and engagement to its partners and stakeholders.
Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified and experienced persons or entities to provide expert knowledge and delivery of communication and engagement services to support and promote the ongoing activities of the GKTOLMB and the development of the Joint Management Plan and associated projects. This will include (but not be limited to) strategy development, issues and risk management, strategic project positioning, stakeholder and community management, the development of project collateral, management of project enquiry lines, reporting and the facilitation of public displays and inter-active forums.
The Communication and Engagement candidate(s) would also need to be flexible with the number of days to be worked depending on project demands. In addition to this the candidate(s) must be able to work on projects based in Gippsland.
Required skills, project experience, industry exposure Has the demonstrated capacity or experience in:
* Developing strategy and achieving identified objectives
* Managing different activities and deadlines
* Communicating with different community members, partner organisations and stakeholder representatives in a cross cultural environment.
* Managing contact and consultation management systems.
* Undertaking customer relationship activities such as; responding to enquiries via phone calls, emails, and or letters.
* Producing written communications including letters, flyers, website content etc.
* Undertaking intelligence and identification of community and stakeholder groups and issues
* Evaluating communication and engagement processes
* Assisting in the development and execution of events such as community information sessions/on country visits
It is vital that the applicant has:
* Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
* Knowledge and an understanding of professional consultation practice and the principles of public participation in development planning and delivery
* Experience in managing day to day customer relation activities including contact databases
* Capacity or experience in coordinating or participating in public events for both community members and technical stakeholders.
