Saint Ives Transmission Tower Strengthening and Refurbishment

⁠⁠⁠Ausgrid requires the contracted services of a company capable of providing the required strengthening and refurbishment works, including steel fabrication and installation and all other, relevant skills and qualifications to undertake refurbishment and strengthening works on Transmission Tower 5 Feeder 9E1/9E2 Sydney East.

The successful company is required to provide holistic services of site preparation, Strengthening works which include but is not limited to: fabricate and supply to site all required steel; strengthen the 4 legs up to the waist by adding an angle (creating a cruciform leg); replace simple angle members with larger ones; add new angle members to increase strength at certain locations; add frames and brackets required for the horizontal vee insulators; install horizontal vee arrangement; and remove existing cross-arms, as well as transmission tower refurbishment which includes but is not limited to: preparation and re-coating all members and all nuts, bolts and washers; excavation of buried concrete footings, and establishment of drainage channels; replacement of damaged and/or corroded steel members; replacement of damaged and/or corroded nuts, bolts and washers; replacement of all tower step bolts with climbing rods, anchor points or new step bolts; as well recording and certifying all works carried out to the satisfaction of Ausgrid.

Included to the above is supply of all materials to achieve the desired outcome, while in control of all aspects of the works engaged as Ausgrid Contractor.

Ausgrid will also be considering alternative solutions to the works above, however, only Respondents capable of delivering the scope outlined in Part A Specifications will be considered.

A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held on site, at 10:30 am, Tuesday 12 July 2016. All prospective respondents must attend this meeting. This meeting will include an approximate three kilometre walk along the access track.
