Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Purpose

The purpose of this document is to inform prospective partners of Ausgrids proposed delivery approach for the Blakehurst Decommissioning Project, including the associated 11kV load transfers and 33kV feeder route works, and to shortlist organisations for participation in the RFT process that demonstrate an aligned strategic vision and ongoing commitment to developing bids for the supply, installation and delivery of the project, including the provision of a five year cable system warranty.

Background

Blakehurst Zone Substation (ZS) is located within the St George area of Ausgrids network and was commissioned in 1964. The substation is currently supplied from Peakhurst Sub transmission Substation (STS) via two underground 33kV gas-insulated feeders (769 and 770). Each feeder is approximately 6.4km in length.

Scope

11kV works: Installation of a 9-way 11kV duct bank for approximately 1.5km. The duct bank will require 4 precast joint bays, supply and installation of seven 11kV 500mm Cu3 cables through the ducts and in-line cable jointing within each precast joint bay.

33kV works: Installation of a duct bank from Willison Rd to existing cable vault for approximately 100m. Installation of a duct bank from Kogarah Zone Substation to Park Rd for approximately 1200m. This second duct bank will require installation of 1 pre-cast joint bay and multiple fibre pits. A 33kV 630mm Cu3 cable will need to be installed from Willison Rd to Park Rd including 1 cable joint within the precast joint bay.  

Installation of new 33kV ducts for approximately 40m and 33kV 630mm Cu1 cables between existing cable basement and existing UGOH pole within the yard of Peakhurst STS
