Tender Description
In partnership with USP, ACIAR established the ACIAR-USP Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme in 2007. This scheme provided scholarships to citizens of seven Pacific island countries (PICs) to give them the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies that enhanced their capacity to increase the productivity, bio-security and trade of the agricultural (including horticulture), fisheries (including aquaculture), and forestry activities in their home countries. The program was initiated with the objectives of building R&D capacity in these disciplines and to meet the needs of ACIAR’s R&D partners in the Pacific region for well-trained personnel.
ACIAR requires a provider for the support and Mentoring of scholarship participants, the expected outcomes include:
* Improved processes to run the scholarship scheme;
* Improvement of student research quality;
* Increase MSc and diploma completion rates;
* Equitable gender and geographical distribution of scholarships; and
* Increase of students enrolled in neglected subjects.
