Upgrade & Extend Operating Base

⁠⁠⁠Marine Rescue Batemans Bay (MRBB) has development approval from Eurobodalla Shire Council (ESC) to upgrade and extend its current operating base at Hanging Rock.

Upgrading, plus a two-storey extension is proposed, to add about 290 square metres of working space. Funding arrangements, preceded by indicative costing, will take several months and may include local, state and federal grants.

MRBB therefore invites suitably qualified and experienced South Coast regional construction firms to lodge expressions of interest (EoI) for the upgrade and extension, including an indicative costing, to plan, project manage and complete all necessary works. Once funding is guaranteed, a formal tender process will follow. All firms lodging EoI will be eligible.

An information package is available, consisting of:
(a) Approved DA Plans
(b) Selected MRBB DA background documents
(c) ESC Notice of Determination, plus conditions
(d) BCA Assessment Report
(e) Acid Sulphate Soils Management Plan
(f) Structural Engineering and Design Plans for the existing base dated July 2003
(g) Detail and level plan dated September 2014

The MRBB base must remain functional throughout the construction period. This will impose restrictions on access, noise, dust and construction processes.

Inspection of the present base is recommended, via the Unit Commander, Mike Syrek on 0488-723-070 in normal working hours.

EoI must set out the qualifications, skills, experience, relevant expertise of the firm, prime contractor and any subcontractors proposed for the works.

Firms lodging EoI must identify at least two double-storey non-residential buildings successfully completed by them since 2005.

Acknowledgment of an EoI will not constitute an offer to enter into a contract.
