Tender Description
The Department currently provides a Demountable/Transportable Buildings Program utilising stock from its Moveable Units storage, units placed in the backyards of existing properties across the state. A new initiative has widened the eligibility for moveable units including demountable and transportable units for community care facilities to provide additional capacity. As the current stock of moveable units is aging and new purpose designed community care units are required for the Department.
(PAS) is inviting contractors to register their interest in providing new designs for demountable/ transportable buildings for use across Metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
This is a two Stage Process, Stage 1 being the Expression of Interest, with Stage 2, The Request for Tender.
The main purpose of this expression of interest is to establish a procurement panel that will facilitate rapid responses to address the need for demountable and transportable buildings.
The plan for the approximately 1400 aging units is as follows, 35 new units per annum, with ongoing replacement of older stock over time.
The contract for the successful panel of contractors will be for 3 years with an option to extend for a further 3 years, after each successful annual review. If option to extend is exercised the value will be adjusted for CPI increase for each year.
This expression of interest seeks to tap into the dynamics of the private sector and establish a diverse range of designs which may be offered by contractors. The standard designs of contractors may have to be modified to comply with the tender brief at a later stage.
