In the context of the Victorian Government's drive for a strong, sustainable TAFE sector, the Boards of Kangan Institute and Bendigo TAFE approved the full integration partnership of both Institutes. Flowing from this approval, on 1st July 2014, the integrated Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) was established.
At its core, the integrated Institute must provide:
* improved training and education offerings for all students;
* broader training opportunities and seamless pathways to higher education; and
* deeper learning opportunities in areas of market demand
To achieve its implementation objectives, BKI has established an integration program which includes the provision of all goods and services.
This entails the consolidation of supply contracts in order to remove duplicated and/or unnecessary administration activities and costs and the rationalisation of suppliers. Currently both former institutes have separate supply arrangements in place for Inspection and Maintenance of Mechanical Plant and Equipment.
