Land 17 Phase 1B/1C Overview
(a) Project A9038 - LAND 17 Phase 1B/1C is a follow-on project from Project A4446 – LAND 17 Phase 1A. Phase 1A delivered similar storage and shelter facilities at some of the locations identified for the LAND 17 Phase 1B/1C Project. The Commonwealth intends to design the necessary Land 17 Phase 1B/1C infrastructure using a single Design Services Consultant.
(b) The purpose of Project A9038 LAND 17 Phase 1B/1C is to provide facilities to support the delivery of new Defence equipment that includes:
(i) Additional M777A2 Howitzers;
(ii) Gun Tow Vehicles,
(iii) Bushmaster Protected Military Vehicles (PMV) in Troop Carrier, Ambulance and Command variants,
(iv) Heavy Integrated Load Handling System (ILHS) including vehicles and ammunition carriers,
(v) Ammunition Modules to support a future family of 155 mm ammunition, and
(vi) Facilities for Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) / Joint Fires Observer (JFO) simulators.
(c) These facilities are being delivered at the following sites across Australia:
(i) Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera;
(ii) Lavarack Barracks, Townsville;
(iii) Robertson Barracks, Darwin,
(iv) School of Artillery, Puckapunyal;
(v) Proof & Experimental Establishment, Port Wakefield, SA;
(vi) Campbell Barracks, Perth;
(vii) RAAF Base Williamtown, Newcastle; and
(viii) Holsworthy Barracks, Sydney.
