Job details
This procurement is for a business analyst and a systems analyst (commonly referred to as a technical business analyst). The National Police Checking Service Support System (NSS) has been in Production for 15 years and is a critical system for the ACIC, Agencies and Australian Public safety. The NSS is a complex system that requires bespoke skills to manage, and it is not simply a matter of acquiring NSS expertise or resources that are readily available in the market. The software used within the system, and the internal technical dependencies, requires staff to acquire the technical experience in house, over time. At present we are exposed to a significant amount of risk due to there being several single points of failure, the specialist nature of skills required, and little consideration for succession planning.
The priority initiatives that require support include, but are not limited to:
- sustainment and enhancement work for the NSS (via the NSS Core Team)
- Implement a business intelligence capability
- Intelligence Operations Management Capability Enhancements
- Develop a new user interface for the NSS
The skills and qualifications should include:
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in fields related to the role and level you are applying for.
- Experience working with or leading ICT project teams using waterfall or Agile delivery methodology.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office or equivalent for documenting, organizing information, delivering presentations and processing data.
- Demonstrated experience in ICT business analysis and requirements gathering.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting software developers to understand and interpret business requirements for an ICT build.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated project management experience to support project delivery outcomes.
