Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
The Software Engineer (Developer) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality Tableau dashboards and visual analytics solutions that support data‑driven targeting decisions within the Australian Border Force (ABF).
Working as part of the Targeting Systems Uplift project, the role contributes directly to improving prioritisation, knowledge retention, and efficiency by transforming complex, multi‑source data into clear, actionable insights. The role supports the development of the Target Discovery Environment (TDE) and new Targeting and Thematic visualisation capabilities, ensuring dashboards are accurate, performant, secure, and aligned to operational and strategic targeting needs.
