Tender Description

Australia’s livestock export industry operates within an increasingly complex financial environment, shaped by evolving expectations across the finance and wider institutional sector. Financial institutions play an important role in supporting large and internationally connected supply chains, yet there is limited clarity around how the livestock export sector is currently assessed, what information is most relevant to decision making, and how engagement with the industry occurs in practice.

This project will take an evidence based, exploratory approach to better understand how financial institutions and related intermediaries assess and engage with the livestock export industry. The work will examine financial sector structures, decision making frameworks and information requirements, with a focus on identifying what forms of evidence, communication and engagement are most useful and constructive.

The project is not intended to advocate for policy change or develop financial products. Instead, it seeks to support understanding and informed dialogue by clarifying areas of alignment or disconnect between industry held information and financial sector expectations. The findings will assist the industry to determine where targeted RD&E, communication or engagement activities may be most effective in the future. Through desktop analysis and targeted, confidential engagement with financial institutions and industry representatives, the consultant will deliver practical, decision focused insights to inform future planning and investment.
