Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

The purpose of the grant is to improve access to and use of supported decision-making for people with an intellectual disability when making financial decisions. It contributes to Outcome 4.1 – Disability and Carers.

The Building Financial Supported Decision-Making Capacity is an activity under the Disability Services and Inclusion Act 2023 (DSI Act) that the Minister may make a payment or grant of financial assistance. To be eligible for the payment or grant, you must meet certain requirements and comply with its terms and conditions.

The objectives of the grant opportunity are:

• improve access to, and effectiveness of supported decision-making for people with intellectual disability when making financial decisions

• develop practical, accessible resources that address barriers experienced by people with intellectual disability in relation to financial decision-making

• build capacity of people with intellectual disability, their supporters, advocates and government staff to implement supported decision-making practices.

This project addresses a critical gap in supported decision-making capacity within financial contexts. Developing financial supported decision-making resources will improve awareness and knowledge of supported decision-making practices among people with an intellectual disability, supporters, government agencies and individual advocacy organisations.
