Rochester Mary Street Stormwater Upgrade

Prior to its demolition in 2024/25, the Rochester War Memorial Swimming Pool was 70 years old. It therefore stands to reason that the 1050mm stormwater pipe running through the site is around the same age and due for renewal. This crucial old stormwater pipe has had several patches over time and is not trafficable.

Council is in the process of designing a new Aquatic Centre for the township to be located on the site of the old pool and it is prudent to renew this 1050mm pipe to the most suitable location within the area based on the new Aquatic Centre designs and make the relevant areas of the pipe trafficable.

Detailed designs for this project have been agreed and completed in the 2024/25 years and the project is ready for construction.
