Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

⁠⁠⁠The purpose of this grant opportunity is to improve the identification, assessment and diagnosis of autism process for Autistic people and their families and carers.

The objectives of the grant opportunity are to:

• Develop information and resources designed for Autistic people, and their carers, to support access to affordable, quality and neurodiversity-affirming autism assessment and diagnosis.

• Produce information and resources in accessible formats (including videos, visual information, Easy Read and key languages) that are widely distributed.

• Resources will be developed for the Autistic community, and their carers and support networks, and cover pre- and post-diagnosis information, address diverse presentations, and co-occurring conditions.

The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are:

• Autistic individuals and their carers report increased understanding and confidence in navigating the assessment and diagnosis process and access to supports and services following a diagnosis.

• Accessible, neurodiversity-affirming, inclusive and culturally appropriate resources are widely disseminated and used by the Autistic community and their support networks.

The Activity will fund one organisation to develop and produce pre- and post-diagnosis information and resources.

The list of eligible organisations was determined because of their experience and/or specialist expertise and knowledge within the Autistic and autism community. Reframing Autism Ltd is also an Autistic-led organisation which aligns to the National Autism Strategy’s guiding principles. All other listed organisations are autism-focussed organisations.

Applications from consortia are acceptable, providing there is a lead organisation that is solely accountable to the Commonwealth for the delivery of grant activities and is an eligible entity as per the list above. Only the lead organisation can submit the application form and enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth. Eligible organisations can form a consortium with ineligible organisations, with the exception of those organisations deemed ineligible because they are included on the National Redress Scheme’s website on the list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’.

As outlined in section 2 of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines, the five statutory funding conditions will apply to this grant opportunity.

$455,000.00
