Drainage Construction - Farnsworth and View Street Castlemaine

Mount Alexander Shire Council (MASC) is committed to upgrading, maintaining and rehabilitating infrastructure in an efficient and timely manner. The existing drainage network contains both overland and piped stormwater drainage.

In 2022 Mount Alexander Shire experienced heavy rainfall resulting in localised flash flooding throughout the shire, with many areas identified for improved drainage.

The storm water catchment in Farnsworth Street is initially captured by the underground drainage network before it then outfalls via an overland flow path towards View Street/Forest Street.

The objective of this construction project is to improve the underground storm water connection along a section of Farnsworth Street, View Street and Forest Street. Drainage designs have been completed for the drainage connection and kerb construction.
