Churchill Island Bridge Phase 3 Repairs

Phillip island Nature Parks is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to carry out the repair works set out in Pitt & Sherry's level 2 inspection report.

Titled - Samuel Amess Drive - Churchill Island Bridge 10/02/2025.

Samuel Amess Drive which incorporates the Churchill Island Bridge is not part of the Vic Roads and Bass Coast Shire road networks , but entirely managed by the Phillip Island Nature Parks

Scope of works along with all relevant reports for phase 1 & 2 repairs are in the Specification Documents.

Scope:

Deck and Slabs (Concrete Repairs)

• Epoxy injection of cracks on cast in-situ deck (approx. 0.6m).

• Concrete patch repair to spalled precast deck slab (approx. 0.3m²).

Abutment

• Reinstate fill loss due to scouring at Abutment 2 (approx. 5m²).

• Install scour prevention measures (e.g. rock beaching or approved equivalent).

Compression Joint Seals

• Epoxy injection of cracks to nosings at Pier 8 (LHS kerb) and Abutment 2 (RHS footpath).

Bridge Railings / Barriers (Steelwork)

• Reinstate missing nuts and secure all loose railing connections.

• Spot clean, treat corrosion, and repaint corroded barrier base plates and members (approx. 10m²).
