Mallee CMA RFMF Construction Works
Tender ID: 600778
Tender Details
Tender Description
The RFMF aims to support ecological, cultural, and social values at 16 high-priority wetlands along the Victorian side of the Murray River by constructing infrastructure to enable future watering. The sites are located from Boundary Bend in the East to near the South Australian border in the West.
The sites have previously received water for the environment using temporary levee banks. While these interim measures have provided short-term benefits, permanent infrastructure is now needed to support long-term watering.
RFMF will install small-scale and low-complexity culverts and earthen banks to enable the future delivery of water using temporary pumps from the Murray River. The infrastructure will be installed at strategically identified locations to avoid and minimise harm, such as existing access tracks and areas which have already been disturbed.
Mallee CMA is arranging all necessary environmental, planning, and cultural heritage approvals to support the works.
The RFMF program has been approved under the Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM), contributing towards Murray Darling Basin Plan objectives. The Funding Agreement for the program requires half of the sites to be built by the end of July 2026 and all works complete by December 2026.
Mallee CMA is seeking to engage suitably experienced contractors to undertake construction works for the RFMF Project.
The works have been divided into seven geographic packages. Tenderers are invited to bid for one or multiple packages.
