Cement Treated Crushed Concrete (CTCC) to Western Treatment Plant (WTP)
Melbourne Water (MW) have released an open Request for Quote (RFQ) for the supply of Cement Treated Crushed Concrete (CTCC) to Western Treatment Plant (WTP). The CTCC Master Services Agreement (MSA) will support multiple WTP Sludge Drying Pan (SDP) Renewal projects over a 5-year period.
Background:
Melbourne Water is a statutory corporation wholly owned by the Victorian Government, responsible for managing the water supply catchments, sewage treatment, and major drainage systems across the greater Melbourne area.
The upcoming tender aims to appoint a single supplier to provide an estimated 156,000 tonnes of CTCC for the renewal of up to 12 SDPs at WTP, located at 1 William Thwaits Drive Cocoroc VIC 3030. MW believe that CTCC offers significant advantages over clay, delivering greater durability and extending the lifespan of SDPs to meet evolving operational needs. Timely product availability and delivery under agreed timelines will be critical to avoid delays in renewal works.
Scope of the RFQ
The MSA contract will cover one material: VicRoads specification Class 3 – 20mm 3% Cement Treated Crushed Concrete, (not Crushed Rock) as defined in Section 812 - Production of Crushed Rock for Pavement Base and Subbase and 815 – Cementitious Treated Crushed Rock for Pavement Subbase. Interested suppliers are encouraged to review their capabilities and prepare proposals ahead of the RFQ release.
