Tender Description

As part of the Banyule City Council’s Capital Works Program 2025-26, the Council is seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and capable contractors for repairing, checking and refinishing the water slides at WaterMarc, located at 1 Flintoff St, Greensborough.

The successful contractor shall provide all temporary works and engineering to ensure the structure always remains in a stable condition. This will require the contractor to engage their own Professional Engineer who is qualified and registered to work in Victoria and is a Registered Building Practitioner with VBA.

The scope of works is generally as depicted in Attachment A&B, which includes but is not limited to:

• Repair all defects as outlined in the Consultant Advice Notice No. 001, dated 29 June 2023.

• The repairing work includes any defects or newly damaged spots in the pipeline and tantrums that require urgent repairs.

• Grates and grills to be adjusted and fixing replaced where required (item no 1 in the report)

• Control box to be replaced with either a non-corroding unit, manufactured from FRP, Grade 316 SS mirror polished or powder-coated aluminium/steel (item no 2).

• Slide entry skirt to be repainted (item no 4).

• Fixings to be removed, slide repaired and new fixings installed that are suitable for the environment (item no 5).

• Mastic to be cleaned off and made good (item no 7).

• Scuffing to be polished out (item no 8).

• Chewing gum to be removed (item no 9)

• Mastic to be cleaned off and made good (item no 10)

• Chip will need to be filled and polished smooth (items no 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 22, 23, 25, 28, 31, 33, 35)

• Joint to be cleaned up and resealed (items no 16, 17, 29, 30)

• Previous repair will need to be filled and polished smooth, Mastic in joint to be cleaned and resealed to reduce the growth of mould (item no 20, 21)

• The joint is to be stripped back to sound base material and rebuilt to be smooth (item no 24)

• Grating to be replaced (item no 26).

• Fixings to be removed, slide repaired and new fixings installed that are suitable for the environment (item no 27).

• This joint in the slide needs some attention to realign the segments, smooth the joint and reseal the mastic (item no 32)

• Joint is to be raked out and resealed (item no 34).

• Slide is to be cut and polished to remove stains (item no 36).

• Fixings to be removed and replaced (Item no 39).

• Column hold-down bolts to be replaced (item no 40).

• Gutter needs to be cleaned (item no 41).

• The remainder of the tank should be relined to protect the concrete structure from exposure to chloramines and pool water, which can cause premature corrosion of the steel reinforcement. Earthing of the slide fitting should be tested to AS3000 and made good where non-compliance is detected (item no 43).

• Bolts and base plates are to be stripped back to bare metal and assessed. Repairs are to be made prior to recoating (item no 44).
