Strathbogie Shire Council is seeking suitably experienced suppliers to fulfil Contract 25-26-22 - Valentines Lane, Avenel – Drainage Rectification

Valentines Lane in Avenel, constructed in 2016–2017 as part of the Vineyard Estate subdivision, serves as the primary access route to Avenel-Longwood Road. Due to the site's topography near the area known as 'Lovers Hill', the road and associated drainage infrastructure have experienced significant erosion from rainfall events.

The existing stormwater system, which includes rock beached swale drains and dual 450 mm reinforced concrete pipes (RCP), has proven insufficient to manage runoff effectively. Frequent overtopping and bypassing of Pit A1 that feeds the dual pipes has resulted in shoulder erosion, damage to adjacent driveways, and water ponding at the intersection.

This project aims to address these issues through stormwater drainage upgrades and road edge protection works. The objective is to mitigate erosion, restore damaged infrastructure, and enhance public safety and access reliability.

A Tender site Inspection briefing will be held on Tuesday the 14th of October at 10am on site at Valentines Lane, Avenel.

Tenders will be received until 4PM, FRIDAY 24th October 2025.

Tenders can be only lodged online through the Tendersearch portal. Please note Strathbogie Shire Council no longer accepts hardcopy tenders and will not accept tenders by fax or email.

It is Strathbogie Shire Council's policy not to accept Tenders received after the specified closing time.

Strathbogie Shire advises that failure to supply a lump sum price in the Schedule 1 will result in your tender not being evaluated.

All Tender Schedules must be completed in order for the submission to be evaluated.

You must allow sufficient time to upload your submission prior to the 4pm deadline. We suggest you familiarise yourself with the online form and uploading options via the RESPONSE tab.

Late submissions in any format will not be accepted. If you are midway through your submission and the clock hits 4:00pm your submission will not be accepted and you will be unable to continue.
