Tender Description
The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is an Australian government statutory authority that invests in research, development, and extension (RD&E) to improve the profitability, productivity, and sustainability of the Australian grains industry. GRDC's mission is to drive the discovery, development, and delivery of world-class innovation in the grains sector, addressing challenges related to crop management, soil health, pest control, and more. GRDC collaborates with various stakeholders, including farmers, research institutions, and industry groups, to fund and facilitate research projects that benefit grain growers across Australia.
This investment seeks to enhance safety across the grains industry by leveraging innovative technologies that adhere to the hierarchy of controls. The GRDC is specifically interested in proposals that prioritise the elimination of hazards at their source (Figure 1), moving beyond reliance on behavioural adjustments or administrative controls. Technological solutions—particularly those driven by automation and connected systems—are anticipated to play a crucial role in reducing safety risks and advancing the industry’s overall safety standards.
Offer period
Offers will remain open for acceptance by the GRDC for a period of 6 months after the Closing Time.

GRDC will accept Tenders from Consortia.
Lodgement of Tender
Submit your Tender response electronically through the Grains Investment Portal.
Applicants are invited to submit their proposal to the Grains Investment Portal using the Proposal application template provided (max 8 pages). The template requires applicants to address evaluation criteria which proposals will be evaluated by.
For the avoidance of doubt, any references to Request for Tender (RFT) Terms and Conditions on the GRDC Website and the Grains Investment Portal should be taken as the Terms and Conditions for this Request for Proposal (RFP).
Industry Briefing
An industry briefing will run via teams on Monday, 8 September 2025 at 11:00am Adelaide time. Refer to Attachments - RFT Terms and Conditions Clause 10 on how to register.
