Monash operates a diverse IT landscape comprising multiple environments, including public cloud platforms and on-premises data centre infrastructure. These environments collectively store and process large volumes of sensitive information, such as customer data, intellectual property, financial records, and personal health information.

The complexity and distributed nature of this environment present a number of challenges, most notably, limited visibility into sensitive data and heightened exposure to the risks of accidental or malicious data leakage.

To address these challenges, the University is seeking to implement enhanced data governance and security capabilities.
