Warrnambool is home to a diverse range of open space areas, including coastal reserves, urban parks, sporting fields and natural bushlands. These areas provide essential recreational, environmental and community benefits.
Warrnambool City Council manages number of open space areas, encompassing public parks and gardens, recreation and sports grounds, natural bushland reserves, and riparian corridors. The Council is responsible for maintaining and enhancing all assets within these open spaces to ensure they continue to meet community needs and expectations.
Through this audit Council seeks to:
- Update the Council’s open space asset register.
- Identify assets that fall below acceptable service levels.
- Assess ongoing maintenance requirements for all open space assets.
The outcomes of the audit will support informed decision making, strategic planning, and more effective management of Council’s open space assets.
Warrnambool City Council requires the successful tenderer to conduct condition inspection of the assets present within the open space areas listed in Appendix - B and provide Council with a list of identified defects which informs the renewal and maintenance program.
