The Hamilton Landfill is located at 68 Elijah St Hamilton, Victoria. The Hamilton Landfill (EPA Licence 20720) is owned and operated by Southern Grampians Shire Council and was in use from 1970 to mid-2019 for disposal of municipal and commercial waste. In 2017 Council resolved to discontinue the intended expansion of the landfill and convert the site to a transfer station, with all waste to be exported to an alternative landfill. The site requires ongoing monitoring to meet EPA licence requirements and to ensure no environmental damage arises from activities on the site. The monitoring program will be verified by an environmental auditor appointed pursuant to the Environment Protection Act relevant during the period of this contract.
