Construction of Rock Crossings and Culvert on private property sites along Bullatale and Native Dog Creek
Project goals
The construction of rock crossings and drainage works along Bullatale and Native Dog creeks are part of the wider SDLAM (Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism) Program to improve environmental water flows.
SDLAM seeks to address both current critical water shortages, as well as establish infrastructure and processes which ensure the future environmental and economic sustainability of the Murray-Darling Basin. The objective of the SDLAM Program is to achieve similar or improved environmental outcomes for rivers, wetlands and wildlife using less water as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Project goals are to,
- improve the efficiency of how water is delivered (for example, building and improving water management structures
- deliver more efficient water use practises to save water for the environment
- remove constraints (and physical barriers) that impact the ability to deliver water into the Murray Darling Basin and where it is need most.
Scope
The project is composite of 2 milestones
Milestone 1 - Construction of rock crossings & one box culvert along with associated approach roads, as well as removal of existing creek crossings at seven sites ( two of which are optional additional sites).
Milestone 2 - Construction of rock crossings and approach roads as well as removal of existing creek crossings at seven sites. (Two of which are removal only).
