Indigo Shire Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to replace the timber components of a pedestrian bridge with FRP mesh or equivalent pedestrian structure.

The bridge is located on the corner of Main Street and Crawford Street, CHILTERN.

The contractor will need to provide design confirmation that the new pedestrian structure is compliant to AS2156.2.

The works on-site will include:

• Removal of existing timber components and handrail
• Installation of FRP mesh or equivalent pedestrian structure compliant to AS2156.2
• Installation of new handrail (Type B Barrier with vertical railing infill)
• Replacement of timber abutment beams with concrete, structural steel or equivalent to adequately support new deck structure
• Assessment, protection (sandblasting and weather protection) and retention of existing concrete abutments and structural steel
• Clear vegetation underneath deck structure (from Main St culvert to past stormwater outfall/rock beaching)
• Make neat site/any disturbed adjacent areas (including reinstatement of paved path and silt clean-up under the bridge including through adjacent drainage systems)
