The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Nephrology is seeking expressions of interest from Nephrology Fellows to join the Committee as the Paediatric Representative.
Description
One of the main roles of the Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Nephrology is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Nephrology for Australia.
There is currently one Fellow position vacant on the Training Committee in the role of Paediatric Representative. This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Nephrology Advanced Trainees and the training program. In this role, you will help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of Nephrology in Australia.
You will be involved in reviewing and monitoring of the training program requirements, assessment and curricula in consultation with the relevant Specialty Society(ies) and other stakeholders, and recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the Adult Medicine Division Education Committee/Paediatrics Division Education Committee/Faculty Education Committee.
Key responsibilities
- monitor training of, and provide support to, supervisors in Nephrology
- accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Nephrology
- assess recognition of prior learning
- advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians, as requested
- modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures
- assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in Nephrology for Fellows in the Paediatric and Child Health Division or the Adult Medicine Division who have not completed the Nephrology Advanced Training program.

Meetings are held four times per year with one face to face meeting which is usually held in November.
Members are appointed to the ATC for a three-year term and can be renewed for a further term.
