Overview
The Department of Corrections | Ara Poutama Aotearoa invites proposals from rongoā Māori providers to deliver rongoā Māori services for people in prisons throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
About
Ara Poutama Aotearoa is working to integrate rongoā Māori into everyday prison health care, alongside existing clinical services. The intent is to make rongoā a core component of health service delivery, supporting a more holistic approach to wellbeing.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Delivery of rongoā Māori services to people in prisons across Aotearoa
- Delivery of services to one or more of the listed prison sites
An open competitive tender process will be run to select providers able to deliver services to one or more of the following sites:
- Northland Region Corrections Facility
- Auckland Prison
- Mount Eden Corrections Facility
- Auckland Region Women's Corrections Facility
- Spring Hill Corrections Facility
- Waikeria Prison
- Whanganui Prison
- Manawatu Prison
- Rimutaka Prison
- Arohata Prison
- Christchurch Men's Prison
- Rolleston Prison
- Otago Corrections Facility
- Invercargill Prison
Contract Terms and Conditions
- Contract term: Up to 5 years
Tender Briefing
Two online briefing sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams:
- Date: Monday 20 July, 12.00pm
- Date: Tuesday 21 July, 12.00pm
- Format: Virtual briefing
Attendance at a briefing session is not required to submit a response. Providers wishing to attend should register by emailing tenders@corrections.govt.nz and indicating their preferred session by 9.00am on 20 July. A Microsoft Teams link will be provided upon registration.
