Project goals
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is seeking industry feedback as part of a market interaction process for two projects in Western Sydney, Elizabeth Drive Upgrade & Mamre Road Upgrade Stage 2. An online briefing will be held from 1030-1130am 29 August 2024.
Elizabeth Drive Upgrade
Elizabeth Drive, between The Northern Road and the M7 Motorway, is a major east-west corridor between Liverpool commercial business district (CBD) and Western Sydney Aerotropolis. Future projected and planned growth in the region is expected with the development of the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the Aerotropolis.
The expected expansion of industrial and commercial precincts and related planned land releases for residential precincts and employment zones in the area will lead to a need for increased traffic capacity on Elizabeth Drive.
Mamre Road Upgrade Stage 2
Mamre Road is a State arterial road located between the Great Western Highway and Elizabeth Drive and is an undivided carriageway with one lane in each direction in some sections. Currently, the road experiences heavy traffic congestion during peak hours, poor crash history and will experience further congestion with increasing development in the area.
Mamre Road Upgrade Stage 2 proposes an upgrade between Erskine Park Road to Kerrs Road.
